Feel Good Centre

  • The challenge:

    We were responsible for the design and build of a complex mechanical services package for the £25m Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre, one of the biggest facilities of its kind in London.

    The centre comprises a 25m swimming pool, learner pool, spa, gym, fitness studio, and extreme sports area, including a climbing wall as well as skateboard and BMX areas.

  • Project summary:

    • Design developed by REL over eight months to ensure it would integrate seamlessly with the fabric of the building, in particular the challenging swimming areas. 
    • Installation of ventilation systems and air conditioning as well as associated ductwork for the centre’s swimming facilities.
    • Installation of a combined heat and power (CHP) system as well as extensive PV on the roof in line with a 40% Co2 reduction target.
    • Delivered ahead of schedule, ensuring all systems were functioning as per the design and allowing sufficient time to hand over the systems and provide client training before the centre opened to the public.
